Paid Internship: Apply for the World Bank Treasury Summer 2025

The World Bank Treasury is one of the few places where you work at the nexus of finance, innovation & international development. The Summer Internship is the only program in the World Bank dedicated to college students.

Ready to make an impact?

Are you the equivalent of a rising senior in college working towards a career on the trading floor of a major bank, investment, or private equity firm or one of the departments supporting that function? Get a substantial boost down that path with a Treasury Summer Internship.

With World Bank, you will not just work in financial markets; you will help create new ones. The Treasury Summer Internship Program is a junior professional training program designed to develop the skills necessary for an exciting and rewarding career in the financial industry. The Program aims to bring exceptional college students with a demonstrated interest in a financial career to support the World Bank’s development mandate. The internship lays the foundation to become a Junior Analyst, a two-year position on one Treasury team, immediately after the intern graduates from their degree program. Interns are expected to be in their second to final year in the equivalent of a four-year college degree program.

The internship offers a comprehensive experience, including:

– A customized onboarding program
– Three rotations across Treasury teams
– Weekly discussions with the program director
– A career perspectives speaker series
– Access to Treasury’s 300-strong team, including the Vice President & Treasurer
– A capstone project presentation to the management team

Benefits include:

– A short-term temporary contract with a hourly rate of $21.30 (net) or $26.00 (gross)
– A World Bank laptop for the duration of the internship
– Sponsorship for a US visa, if required
– A unique opportunity to work with Treasury’s 16 teams, including Asset Management & Advisory, Capital Markets & Investments, Treasury Operations, Pension & Endowments, and Treasury Risk, Compliance, and Controls

Up to 16 interns will be selected for this summer’s program, each with a tailored rotation schedule to ensure a diverse experience. Mentors and coordinators will provide guidance and support throughout the internship.
