Fully Funded: Apply for Mental Health America’s Young Leaders Council

Are you a young leader passionate about mental health? Mental Health America (MHA) invites you to apply for the 2024-2025 Young Leaders Council (YLC), an opportunity designed to empower young adults who are making a difference in their communities.

What is the Young Leaders Council?

The YLC is a prestigious program that identifies and supports young leaders, aged 18-25, who have created innovative programs and initiatives to address gaps in mental health support and resources. This council provides a platform for these leaders to collaborate, learn, and further their impact.

Program Benefits

Selected applicants will participate in a six-month cohort where they can connect with like-minded individuals from across the United States. As a YLC member, you will:

  • Attend Monthly Meetings: Participate in 90-minute virtual meetings each month over the six-month term.
  • One-on-One Mentoring: Receive personalized guidance and support from experienced mentors.
  • Public Speaking Opportunities: Present your ideas and initiatives at both local and national MHA events, as well as with MHA partner organizations.
  • Share Your Story: Contribute to MHA’s content, including an annual report, and share your experiences via MHA’s website, social media, and with partner organizations, journalists, and others interested in youth mental health.
  • Join the Expanding Impact Network: Become part of a growing community of MHA youth program graduates, with access to ongoing training and community-building opportunities.
  • Receive a Stipend: All YLC members receive a $1,000 stipend in recognition of their contributions.
