About GCA
The Global Center on Adaptation (GCA) is an international organization that is accelerating action on climate change adaptation. The organization works with the public and private sectors to implement solutions that prioritize the most vulnerable communities affected by climate change.
Founded in 2018, GCA has regional offices in Kenya, Ivory Coast, Bangladesh, and Beijing, with our European headquarters in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Its work spans policy development, research, advocacy, and collaborative efforts to drive effective climate adaptation worldwide.
Role: Digital Content Intern
As a Digital Content Intern, you will play a key role in supporting GCA’s digital presence. Reporting to the Senior Communications Officer, you will work alongside the External Affairs team, contributing to GCA’s mission through digital content creation, social media management, and website updates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Social Media Management: Develop, schedule, and post content using tools like Falcon to track performance.
- Content Collaboration: Work with various teams to create engaging content that highlights GCA’s adaptation solutions.
- Internal Communications: Contribute to GCA’s weekly newsletter using Mailchimp.
- Website Content: Assist with updating and posting content on the GCA website.
- Ad Hoc Support: Provide additional support as needed across the External Affairs team.
Minimum Requirements:
- Currently pursuing or completed a Bachelor’s degree in digital media, communications, marketing, or a related field.
- Basic proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere).
- Experience in intercultural environments.
- Must reside in the Netherlands and be authorized to work there.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with online animation software like Powtoon.
- Familiarity with web content management systems.
- Proficiency in English, with French as an advantage.
