Internship Details

Type: Paid Staff Assistant Internship
Duration: January 13, 2025 — May 16, 2025

Hourly Wage: $17.80/hr
Work Commitment: 25-35 hours per week (mid-January to mid-May 2025)

This hybrid internship requires interns to be based in the Washington, D.C. area, with 2-3 days of in-person work at the Wilson Center.

Intern Responsibilities:

Researching and writing stories for New Security Beat and ECSP’s website
Exploring topics related to environment, security, global health, and demography
Assisting in the planning and implementation of events and conferences
Preparing publications and outreach materials
Performing administrative tasks to support ECSP activities
Drafting social media posts to promote events and content on platforms like Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram
Helping with external communications, including newsletters and event invitations

Application Requirements

Current students, prospective students, or recent graduates with a background in environmental and human security
Skilled in research, writing, and/or administration
Detail-oriented
Able to work both independently and collaboratively

Eligibility

Must provide evidence of eligibility to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship available)
International students must hold a valid F-1 or J-1 visa AND obtain written permission from their university’s Designated School Official (DSO) or Responsible Officer (RO)
