The YOCA Stage Dreams Gala is Uganda’s premier celebration of performing arts excellence. This inaugural event honors the talented individuals who shape our nation’s identity and bring our diverse stories to life. For centuries, Uganda’s rich cultural heritage has been woven from the narratives of its people, and The YOCA Stage Dreams Gala provides a platform for these stories to be told through music, dance, and performance.
This prestigious award recognizes outstanding secondary school students in music and dance, with nominations open nationwide. A panel of industry professionals will review submissions, and winners will receive a cash award. The top five finalists will also receive prizes and cash awards, with their teachers and schools recognized for their support.
The YOCA Stage Dreams Gala aims to:
– Provide students and teachers with a comprehensive understanding of the demands and rewards of dedicated training
– Foster equitable and reliable talent development among students of diverse abilities
– Enhance classroom teachers’ recognition of artistic talent
– Encourage peer support and pride in artistic achievement
– Educate parents on the importance of nurturing their children’s creative talents
As the originator of this groundbreaking initiative, YOCA is proud to empower young Ugandans to realize their dreams, appreciate their teachers, benefit their schools, and inspire parents to support their children’s artistic journeys.
Founded in 2017, YOCA is an independent, registered, youth-friendly not-for-profit social enterprise. As the largest forum in Uganda focused on youth career development, work, and employment, we are dedicated to unlocking endless opportunities for young people. We empower secondary school, vocational, and university students with the knowledge, skills, and resources they need to succeed in their educational and career journeys.
