Old Students Support

YOCA is concerned with the critical need as well as the challenges faced by Old Students in establishing and managing their Associations. Old Students’ are mandatory part of the School Board of Directors but also are involved in home-comings, annual retreats and grand re-unions, health camps, fundraising events, exhibitions, joint ventures, corporate social events and dinners, construct schools and community structures, and many others. They also regularly form clubs, trade associations and business forums. YOCA;

  1. a) Supports Secondary Schools to establish and operationalize their associations including formalization processes, documentation, development of strategic and business plans as well as work plans and reports.
  2. b) Initiates, coordinates and fundraises for the Association programs, activities and events including Annual Meetings and Retreatsamong others
  3. c) Establishes and manages The Alumni Directory; the association and Old Students information, profiles and data – enabling timely access for updates and news with and about the school community.
  4. d) Savings or Financial Clubs; Many Old Students clubs are now platforms for personal financial development and growth.
  5. e) Coordinate The National Old Students Presidents and LeadersAssembly (NOSPLA) Retreat. We run this unique event every November of the year as a forum to bring together Presidents and Leaders of the different Old Students Associations from the biggest, leading and iconic Secondary Schools in Uganda. The Alumni leaders come to learn, share as well as promote interests of thousands of their former class and school mates.
