Benefits of the KU Leuven Master Mind Scholarship

The Government of Flanders offers 30 Master Mind Scholarships to outstanding master’s degree students. Recipients of the scholarship will receive:

• A stipend of €10,000 per academic year significantly covers living expenses, including accommodation and insurance.
• A waiver of tuition fees, making the only expense an enrollment fee.

For those applying for a two-year master’s program, the scholarship provides €10,000 for both academic years (2024–2025 and 2025–2026).

Eligibility Criteria

If you are eligible for a Master Mind Scholarship, you are also eligible for the following Master’s scholarships:

• Inspiring the Outstanding Scholarship
• KU Leuven ASEAN Scholarship (on the condition that you have one of the eligible nationalities)
• KU Leuven Scholarship for Africa (on the condition that you have one of the eligible nationalities)
• KU Leuven Scholarship for Central and South America (on the condition that you have one of the eligible nationalities)

You automatically apply for all of these scholarships through one application procedure.

To be eligible for the Master Mind Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Demonstrate exceptional academic potential with a high grade point average (GPA).
• Show strong proficiency in the language of instruction.
• Students currently enrolled in Flemish universities are ineligible, except for international students in specific preparatory programs for master’s studies.
• Certain programs, such as preparatory and distance learning, are not eligible for the scholarship.
• Cannot be combined with Erasmus Mundus fellowships or other Flemish government grants.

The application deadline for the KU Leuven Master Mind Scholarship is January 15 2025.

Application Procedure

The application process for the KU Leuven Master Mind Scholarship for 2025–2026 is as follows:

• Step 1: Submit a complete application file for an eligible Master’s programme before 15 January 2025, 23.59 CET, including the KU Leuven Scholarships & Master Mind Candidacy Form as an annex. This annex should be uploaded in the application tool under the document type “Annexe “.  Download the Candidacy Form

• Step 2: Register your Master Mind candidacy via the online registration tool before 15 January 2025, 23.59 CET.

• After nomination: if you have been nominated as a candidate, you will be informed before 8 March 2025 and you will be asked to submit a 1-minute motivational video for the next selection phase by 17 March 2025.
