Youth Career and Opportunity Clubs

Youth Career & Opportunity Clubs

The Youth Career and Opportunity Clubs in schools are designed to bridge the gap between students and life-changing opportunities. These clubs serve as a vital link between YOCA and the student community, providing a platform for sharing valuable resources, guidance, and support.

The clubs coordinate and link students to internship opportunities, scholarships, mentorship programs, and other career-advancing initiatives, as well as disseminate the YOCA Magazine, a quarterly publication featuring inspiring stories, career advice, and industry insights.

The ultimate goal is to foster a culture of career awareness, exploration, and preparation among students.

A Prefect position is designated in each school to serve as the liaison between YOCA and the school administration, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration. The Prefect is responsible for coordinating club activities, events, and meetings, disseminating YOCA opportunities and resources to club members, and providing feedback and insights to YOCA on club performance and member needs. YOCA provides a stipend to the Prefect, recognizing their time, effort, and leadership. This financial support enables the Prefect to focus on their responsibilities, drive club growth, and make a meaningful impact on their peers’ lives.

By establishing these clubs and supporting our Prefects, YOCA Uganda invests in the future of Uganda’s youth, empowering them to make informed career choices and unlocking their full potential.
